Conformément aux intentions exprimées par les intéressés et rappelant l'engagement du président Abbas en faveur d'un programme pour la paix, le Conseil a demandé qu'un dialogue s'engage rapidement entre le premier ministre israélien et le président de l'Autorité palestinienne, compte tenu de l'urgente nécessité de relancer le processus qui doit mener à un règlement négocié du conflit israélo-palestinien conduisant à la création d'un État palestinien indépendant, démocratique et viable, vivant côte à côte avec Israël et ses autres voisins dans la paix et la sécurité.
7. In line with their declared intentions and recalling President Abbas' commitment to a platform of peace, the Council called for an early engagement between the Israeli Prime Minister and the President of the Palestinian Authority in view of the urgent need to relaunch the process towards a negotiated settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict leading to an independent, democratic, and viable Palestinian State living side by side in peace and security with Israel and its other neighbours.
