RELATIONS WITH TURKEY In connection with the preparation of the position to be adopted at the 36th meeting of the EC-Turkey Association Council, the Council unanimously agreed on the components of a global package concerning: - the general political framework for developing future relations between the European Union and Turkey, on one hand, and Cyprus, on the other hand, and the customs union with Turkey; - the draft Decision of the EC-Turkey Association Council on Customs Union; _ the draft Resolution of the EC-Turkey Association Council with regard to the development of cooperation, including political dialogue; - the Community declaration concerning financial cooperation; and the outline of the statement to be made by the President of the Council on behalf of the European Union at the Association Council meeting, including an important section given over to the problem of human rights in Turkey.
