La Commission européenne a décidé aujourd'hui d'enregistrer l'initiative citoyenne européenne intitulée «Nous sommes une Europe accueillante: apportons notre aide!», qui est libellée comme suit: «Les États membres ont du mal à gérer la question de la migration.
The European Commission has today decided to register a European Citizens' Initiative entitled 'We are a welcoming Europe, let us help!' which states: "Governments are struggling to handle migration.

Bien évidemment, nous pouvons toujours faire plus et nous sommes heureux de renforcer notre collaboration avec la Commission européenne et avec d'autres parties, en augmentant notre engagement commun à combattre le terrorisme».
We recognize that we can always do more and are looking forward to strengthen our collaboration with the European Commission and others as we deepen our joint commitment to combating terrorism”.

M. Dimitris Avramopoulos, commissaire pour la migration, les affaires intérieures et la citoyenneté a déclaré: «Notre objectif est et reste d'obtenir la pleine réciprocité en matière de visas avec le Canada et les États-Unis. Notre engagement sans relâche et nos patients contacts diplomatiques au cours de l'année écoulée ont déjà débouché sur des résultats concrets avec le Canada, et nous sommes déterminés à suivre la même voie avec les États-Unis. Le dialogue avec nos partenaires stratégiques constitue la clé pour avancer et nous sommes sur le bon chemin».
Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs, and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos said: "Our goal is and remains to obtain full visa reciprocity with both Canada and the U.S. Our continued engagement and patient diplomatic contacts over the past year have brought tangible results already with Canada, and we are committed to proceeding in the same way with the U.S. Dialogue with our strategic partners is the right way forward and we are on the right track".
