Among the issues raised with regard to African integration were Community support for plans to develop the Senegal River and cooperation with the EC in the light of forthcoming negotiations on the second financial protocol under the Fourth Lomé Convention. Implementation of the first financial protocol is running smoothly. Mali will receive ECU 136 million in grants under its national indicative programme for Lomé IV between 1990 and 1994, and it has so far received ECU 40 million in Structural Adjustment Support allocations.
