Certes, en raison du traité de Lisbonne, qui vient juste d'entrer en vigueur, le Parlement aura, dans l'ensemble, besoin de capacités supplémentaires pour le travail législatif, mais avec l'introduction du statut des assistants depuis le début de l’actuel mandat parlementaire, rien ne prouve à l'heure actuelle que les députés auront besoin de plus d'assistants.
