Urges the Chinese Government to use all its levers of influence to ensure stability in the Korean peninsula and to induce North Korea to return to credible denuclearisation talks and take concrete steps to denuclearise; reminds that China remains North Korea’s most important ally, and therefore encourages the Chinese government, together with the international community, to play a constructive role in urgently addressing the dire human rights situation in North Korea, including dealing with the thousands of North Korea refugees who cross the border into China fleeing appalling conditions at home; urges the Chinese government, in accordance with its obligations as a state party to the UN Refugee Convention, not to deny these refugees their right to seek asylum or forcibly return them to North Korea, but to protect their fundamental human rights; calls on the EU to exert diplomatic pressure on the Chinese Government to that effect, in line with its global objectives of non-proliferation;

6. se félicite du plan d'action national visant à donner suite aux recommandations figurant dans le rapport de la commission des enseignements du passé et de la réconciliation, et invite le gouvernement à redoubler d'efforts en vue d'appliquer complètement ses recommandations, lesquelles consistent à mener des enquêtes crédibles sur les allégations, très répandues, d'exécutions extrajudiciaires et de disparitions forcées, à poursuivre la démilitarisation du nord de Sri Lanka, à mettre en place des mécanismes impartiaux de résolution des litiges fonciers, à réévaluer les politiques de détention, à renforcer les institutions civiles autrefois indépendantes, telles que la police, la justice et la commission des droits de l'homme, et à parvenir à un accord politique à long terme sur la poursuite de la décentralisation du pouvoir au bénéfice des provinces; demande que la commission d'enquête créée par le président traite des disparitions non seulement dans les provinces du Nord et de l'Est, mais aussi dans le reste du pays;

Commends the national action plan for implementation of the LLRC recommendations, and calls on the government to intensify its efforts to fully implement the recommendations, namely to carry out credible investigations into the widespread allegations of extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances, to further demilitarise the north of Sri Lanka, to complete impartial land dispute resolution mechanisms, to re-evaluate detention policies, to strengthen formerly independent civil institutions such as the police force, the judiciary and the Human Rights Commission, and to reach a long-term political settlement on the further devolution of power to the provinces; calls for the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to cover disappearances not only in the Northern and Eastern Provinces but also in the rest of the country;
