Consequently, I was happy to be part and parcel of the aftermath of the inquiry undertaken by Dr. John English, upon the request of Ms Sheila Copps, to study the National Archives and the National Library of Canada to find out whether they were positioned to preserve, promote and provide access to Canada's heritage and confront the challenges of the information age in the next century while continuing to manage collections and records in their traditional form.
