Deze indeling bepaalt drie groepen: een laagrisico groep waarbij APBI buiten een klinische studie kan, een medium risico groep waarbij APBI enkel kan in de context van een klinische studie en een hoogrisico groep bij wie APBI gecontraïndiceerd is (zie appendix).
