6. souligne que le sort des boat people qui touche la Thaïlande et d'autres pays est pour l'essentiel un problème régional; salue les efforts consentis par le gouvernement thaïlandais pour renforcer la coopération entre les voisins de la région en vue de régler la question des Rohingyas; se félicite, à cet égard, de la réunion entre le ministre des affaires étrangères, Kasit Piromya, et les ambassadeurs d'Inde, d'Indonésie, du Bangladesh, de Malaisie et de Birmanie, qui a eu lieu le 23 janvier; appelle en outre les membres de l'ANASE, et notamment la présidence thaïlandaise, à œuvrer en faveur d'une solution durable à ce problème ancien;
6. Stresses that the boat people issue which affects Thailand and other countries is essentially a regional one; views positively the efforts of the Thai Government to increase cooperation among regional neighbours to address the Rohingya issue; welcomes in this respect the meeting held on 23 January by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kasit Piromya, with the Ambassadors of India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Burma; and appeals to the members of ASEAN, and in particular the Thai chair, to work on a permanent solution to this long-standing problem;
