La Commission a revu la stratégie européenne pour l'emploi en 2002, après cinq années de mise en œuvre, afin de prendre en compte les nouveaux défis auxquels sera confrontée l'Union européenne bientôt élargie, comme la mondialisation, les mutations technologiques, le défi démographique et le défi social.
