Sans cela, nous risquons de réaliser d’ici quelques années que nous n’avons pas progressé et que nous sommes toujours touchés par la situation atmosphérique, le réchauffement de la planète et la mauvaise gestion des États membres.
I believe that the increase by millions of euros for the reconstruction of forests struck by disasters is extremely sensitive, but I believe that there must be democratic control in all the countries of the Mediterranean so that the investments of this Parliament in relation to information, prevention and repopulation are properly complied with, because otherwise we may find in a few years’ time that we have not moved forward, and that we are still affected by the atmospheric situation, by global warming and by bad management on the part of the Member States.

Mais toutes ces mesures que le Parlement apprécie tant ne servent qu’à éviter les mesures réellement fondamentales, comme la création dans chaque pays d’une banque publique forte et efficace chargée de répondre à ses besoins en développement, la fermeture des «paradis fiscaux», l’imposition de conditions aux mouvements de capitaux et la fin de la spéculation financière, la modification de la politique monétaire européenne et du pacte de stabilité, la fin de la privatisation et de la libéralisation de l’économie, etc.
However, all these measures that Parliament so values are simply a way of avoiding acting on the fundamental elements, such as creating a strong, effective public bank in each country to serve its development needs, putting an end to ‘tax havens’, imposing conditions on the movement of capital and ending financial speculation, altering the EU’s monetary policy and the Stability Pact, ending privatisation and the liberalisation of the economy, and so on.
