First, I will explain the jurisdiction of the NWMB with respect to Nunavut's commercial marine fisheries; second, Mr. d'Eca will briefly review the recent developments that are helping to strengthen and modernize these fisheries; and third, I will set out for you four broad recommendations that the NWMB would like the Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans to champion in any further report it may issue on the topic of Nunavut fisheries development.
