La nécessité de trouver un juste équilibre entre ces deux objectifs est évidente et par-là - que cela soit bien clair - je n'entends absolument pas soutenir que concurrence et emploi sont deux objectifs qui s'excluent l'un l'autre ; au contraire, nous sommes convaincus que le maintien, au niveau global, d'une économie dynamique et de marché dans laquelle les forces concurrentielles puissent s'exprimer pleinement, contribuera grandement à l'augmentation des niveaux d'emploi.
The need to find the right balance between these two objectives is clear – and let it be understood that in saying this I am in no way trying to suggest that competition and employment are two objectives which are incompatible. On the contrary, we are convinced that, worldwide, sustaining a dynamic market economy in which the forces of competition are free to express themselves will contribute greatly to increasing employment levels.
