The Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Vladimir Filat visited the European Investment Bank and signed with EIB Vice-President Wilhelm Molterer a loan contract of EUR 17 million to finance the rehabilitation of Moldova’s power transmission network.

Le contrat de financement a été signé par Vladimir Filat et Eva Srejber, la vice-présidente de la BEI chargée des opérations de financement dans les pays voisins de l’Est, dont la Moldavie, laquelle a déclaré à cette occasion : « Les fonds de la BEI permettront d’accroître la compétitivité de la Moldavie de différentes manières : par l’amélioration des performances et des possibilités d’exportation dans un des secteurs clés de l’économie moldave, à savoir la viticulture, ainsi que par la remise en état, l’augmentation de la capacité des principaux axes routiers et l’amélioration de la sécurité routière dans le pays ».
Eva Srejber, EIB Vice-President responsible for financing operations in the Eastern Neighbour countries including Moldova, who signed the loan contract with Mr. Vladimir Filat, commented: “EIB funds will help to increase the competitiveness of Moldova in several ways: through improving the performance and export possibilities of the key sector of the Moldova’s economy, the wine industry, and the rehabilitation, capacity and safety increase of the key roads in the country”.
