Je voudrais donc en lire un paragraphe, qui pourrait peut-être sembler inutile, mais que je souhaite souligner: "La présidence italienne a guidé la Conférence intergouvernementale avec la volonté de maintenir autant que possible le projet de la Convention, qui est le fruit d’un débat démocratique et approfondi, et a été également ouverte à examiner avec esprit constructif les propositions de chaque État membre pour tenir compte d’exigences légitimes".
I would like, therefore, to read you a paragraph, which might perhaps seem pointless, but I feel I must underscore it: ‘The Italian Presidency has conducted the Intergovernmental Conference with the intention of keeping as close as possible to the Convention’s draft, fruit of an in-depth, democratic debate, open also to examining in a constructive spirit the proposals of each Member State in order to consider legitimate needs’.
