– (PT) Mr President, as a Member of this House elected by one of the outermost regions – Madeira – and since it is impossible in the time allocated to address all of the issues that this report raises, and which the rapporteur, Mrs Torres Marques, whom I shall take this opportunity to congratulate on her excellent work, has dealt with quite thoroughly, I wish to focus my speech on three points that directly concern the outermost regions.

Permettez-moi de centrer mon intervention sur deux problèmes particuliers.
Let me focus on two particular issues.

– (ES) Mr President, after first congratulating and thanking Mrs Jensen for her good work, I would like to start my speech with reference to the fact that last Sunday, in Galicia – my country – a former Member of this European Parliament, Manuel Fraga Iribarne, founder of the Spanish Popular Party, obtained, for the fourth time running, an absolute majority in the elections to the Galician Parliament.

Madam Chairman, before concluding my speech I should like to express my sincere thanks to all staff at the Court of Auditors who worked on this Report.

En terminant, permettez-moi encore une fois de féliciter mon collègue pour son travail extrêmement constructif en cette Chambre (1805) Mme Yolande Thibeault (Saint-Lambert, Lib.): Madame la Présidente, je suis également consciente de l'excellent travail de mon collègue, le député Etobicoke-Nord, qui a réussi à mettre en évidence l'imposition de frais d'utilisation externe, non seulement par le dépôt de son projet de loi, mais également en raison de l'excellent travail qu'il exécute depuis longtemps à titre de membre du Comité permanent des finances.
The consequences of such changes are difficult to assess and could well prove disastrous. In closing, let me once again congratulate my colleague for the constructive work he has done in this House (1805) Ms. Yolande Thibeault (Saint-Lambert, Lib.): Madam Speaker, I too am aware of the excellent work by my colleague, the member for Etobicoke North, who shed light on external charging, not only by introducing his bill, but also through the excellent work he has been doing for a very long time as a member of the Standing Committee on Finance.
