Stresses that financial services must be included in the TTIP negotiations, and calls in this context for particular attention to be paid to equivalence, mutual recognition, convergence and extraterritoriality, since these are central considerations for both sides; emphasises that convergence towards a common financial regulatory framework between the EU and US would be beneficial; highlights that whilst market access must be regarded as a positive step, prudential supervisory processes are vital for obtaining proper convergence; stresses that the negative impact of extraterritoriality should be minimised and should not be allowed to detract from a consistent approach to regulating financial services;

However, it should be possible to update operational programmes in order to concentrate the funds on competitiveness, growth and employment, and in order to align their targets and objectives with the decrease in the total funding available.

Afin de refléter l'importance de ces différentes composantes, chaque partenariat devrait être dirigé par un comité de pilotage représentatif, comptant un nombre limité de représentants de haut niveau des États membres (ministres), de députés, de dirigeants d'entreprise, de chercheurs et d'autres acteurs essentiels, qui devront faire preuve d'une importante détermination à réaliser les objectifs du partenariat.
To reflect the importance of these different constituencies, each partnership should be led by a representative Steering Board, composed of a limited number of high level representatives of Member States (Ministers), members of Parliament, industry leaders, researchers and other key stakeholders, who will need to bring a major commitment to realise the aims of the partnership.

La position de l’Union européenne est et sera toujours guidée par les éléments essentiels de l’accord de partenariat ACP-UE ainsi que par ses principes fondamentaux, notamment le rôle crucial du dialogue et le respect des obligations mutuelles, mais il y a lieu de souligner que l’issue des futures consultations n’est pas une affaire entendue pour l’Union européenne.
While the EU’s position is and always will be guided by the essential elements of the ACP-EU Partnership Agreement as well as its fundamental principles, notably regarding the pivotal role of dialogue and the fulfilment of mutual obligations, it is stressed that there are no foregone conclusions on the EU’s side regarding the outcome of future consultations.
