Je ne dis absolument pas cela pour promouvoir la création d’un organe de supervision européen, mais la façon dont les autorités de supervision en Europe ont organisé les choses montre qu’elles ont avant tout pour objectif de délimiter clairement leurs frontières nationales. C’est pourquoi nous devrions, avec la Commission, prendre les devants au niveau européen et inviter ces autorités à engager un dialogue sur la question.
In saying this, I am certainly not advocating a European supervisory body, but, given the way the supervisory bodies in Europe have organised things, their primary interest is in staking out their national boundaries, and so the first move should come from us at the European level, and from the Commission, with an invitation being extended to the supervisors to engage in dialogue on the subject.
