Some progress was made regarding the situation of the Roma, especially concerning school attendance; nevertheless, drop-out rates and the low share of female Roma students among the total population of Roma students is a cause of concern.
Des progrès ont été accomplis en ce qui concerne la situation des Roms, en particulier sur le plan de la fréquentation scolaire; néanmoins, le taux de décrochage scolaire et la faible part des filles dans l’ensemble de la population étudiante rom restent préoccupants.

21. Calls on the Member States to eliminate segregation in the field of education and the illicit placement of Roma children in special schools, where relevant, and to create the necessary infrastructure and mechanisms to facilitate access to quality education for all Roma children, to address early school-leaving among Roma pupils, inter alia by involving parents in the education process, to promote Roma children’s access to early childhood education and development services, to provide training for teachers so that they are able to address specific situations which may arise when working with Roma children, to provide inclusive support structures such as tutoring and mentoring to Roma students in order to prevent them dropping out of secondary or tertiary education, to ensure their access to the Erasmus programme, and to promote internship opportunities in order to enable them to gain appropriate work experience;
21. invite les États membres à éliminer la ségrégation dans le domaine de l'éducation et le placement illicite d'enfants roms dans des écoles spéciales, le cas échéant, et à créer l'infrastructure et les mécanismes nécessaires pour faciliter l'accès à une éducation de qualité pour tous les enfants roms, à s'attaquer au décrochage scolaire chez les élèves roms, notamment par la participation des parents au processus d'éducation, à promouvoir l'accès des enfants roms à des services de développement et d'éducation précoce, à assurer la formation des enseignants afin qu'ils soient en mesure de faire face à des situations particulières qui peuvent se poser lorsqu'ils travaillent avec les enfants roms, à fournir des structures d'appui inclusives comme le tutorat et le mentorat pour les étudiants roms afin de les empêcher de quitter l'enseignement secondaire ou tertiaire, à assurer leur accès au programme Erasmus, et à promouvoir les possibilités de stages afin de leur permettre d'acquérir une expérience professionnelle appropriée;
