Brussels, 20 June 2011 - On Tuesday, 21 June, European Commissioner for Development, Andris Piebalgs will arrive to Dhaka (Bangladesh), together with German Development Minister Dirk Niebel, for an official visit to the country. Commissioner Piebalgs will meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed and several senior members of the Government to reaffirm EU support for Bangladesh’s sustainable and inclusive economic growth and social development.

As a continuation to the established EU-OPEC Energy dialogue in June this year, Mr Piebalgs, European Commissioner in charge of Energy, met yesterday evening with Sheikh Ahmad Fahad Al Sabah, President of the OPEC Conference, for an exchange of views on the latest developments on the international oil market prior to the meeting today of the OPEC Conference.
Dans le cadre du dialogue sur l’énergie entre l’UE et l’OPEP établi en juin dernier, M. Piebalgs, membre de la Commission européenne responsable de l’Énergie, a rencontré hier soir M. Ahmad Fahad Al Sabah, président de la conférence de l’OPEP, pour un échange de vues sur les derniers développements du marché international du pétrole, avant la réunion de la conférence de l’OPEP de ce jour.
