I do not think it reflects the importance of the country, and the commitment on both sides, to open just one chapter per Presidency, bearing in mind that we were unable to open a new chapter during this Presidency even though there has been a lot of progress, in particular on Chapter 8 dealing with competition.
Je ne pense pas que l’ouverture d’un seul chapitre par Présidence reflète l’importance de ce pays et l’engagement des deux côtés. D’autant que nous n’avons pas pu ouvrir un nouveau chapitre durant cette Présidence malgré les nombreux progrès enregistrés, en particulier sur le chapitre 8 qui traite de la concurrence.

Het mondelinge amendement luidt als volgt: Considers that the Commission should not only take account of the market situation in applying the provisions of competition law to the liberal professions, but must also bear in mind the social aspects and tasks in the public interest.
Je demande par conséquent qu’il soit modifié conformément à ce dont nous avons déjà convenu. L’amendement oral serait donc formulé comme suit: "Considère que la Commission doit non seulement prendre en compte la situation du marché en appliquant aux professions libérales les dispositions du droit de la concurrence, mais aussi ne pas oublier les aspects sociaux et les tâches d’intérêt public.
