Patiënten met multipel myeloom: Van de 646 patiënten met multipel myeloom die ten minste 1 eerdere behandeling hebben gekregen, werden 318 patiënten behandeld met de combinatietherapie van Caelyx 30 mg/m 2 als een 1 uur durende intraveneuze infusie toegediend op dag 4 na bortezomib dat wordt toegediend in een dosis van 1,3 mg/m² op dag 1, 4, 8 en 11, om de drie weken of met bortezomib monotherapie tijdens een klinisch fase-III-onderzoek.

De meest voorkomende (geneesmiddelgerelateerde, uit de behandeling voortkomende) bijwerkingen tijdens de combinatietherapie (Caelyx + bortezomib) waren misselijkheid (40 %), diarree (35 %), neutropenie (33 %), trombocytopenie (29 %), braken (28 %), vermoeidheid (27 %) en constipatie (22 %).
Les événements indésirables les plus fréquemment rapportés (survenus pendant le traitement et imputés à celui-ci) sous l’association Caelyx + bortézomib étaient les suivants : nausées (40 %), diarrhée (35 %), neutropénie (33 %), thrombocytopénie (29 %), vomissements (28 %), fatigue (27 %) et constipation (22 %).

Het belang van metformine zowel in mono- als combinatietherapie wordt door dit onderzoek nogmaals onderstreept.
Cette étude souligne à nouveau l’intérêt de la metformine, aussi bien en monothérapie qu’en traitement associé.

Aangezien chloortalidon in België het enige in monopreparaat verkrijgbare thiazide is en de redactie monopreparaten verkiest boven vaste associaties, droeg chloortalidon hoe dan ook reeds de voorkeur weg van de redactie, zowel in mono- als in combinatietherapie.
Étant donné que la chlortalidone est le seul thiazide sous forme de préparation monocomposée disponible en Belgique et que la rédaction préfère les préparations monocomposées aux associations fixes, nous accordons notre préférence à la chlortalidone, aussi bien dans les traitements monocomposés que dans les traitements combinés.
