Lors d’une autre étude réalisée chez des patients âgés de 20 ans ou moins transplantés rénaux ayant pour but d’évaluer la sécurité d’un arrêt progressif des corticostéroïdes (à partir du 6 ème mois suivant la transplantation) dans le cadre d’un protocole immunosuppresseur initié suite à la transplantation utilisant une immunosuppression à dose complète de Rapamune et d’inhibiteur de la calcineurine associé à une induction par basiliximab, 19 patients (6,9 %) sur les 274 patients inclus ont développé un syndrome lymphoprolifératif post-transplantation (PTLD).
