Er werd gerapporteerd dat accidentele of intentionele ingestie van orale clonidine hypotensie, voorbijgaande hypertensie, asthenie, braken, geprikkeldheid, vermindering of afwezigheid van reflexen, lethargie, slaperigheid, sedatie of coma, bleekheid, hypothermie, bradycardie, geleidingsstoornissen, aritmie, droogheid van de mond, miosis, apneu, respiratoire depressie, hypoventilatie en insulten veroorzaakt.
Les manifestations suivantes ont été rapportées après ingestion intentionnelle ou accidentelle de clonidine par voie orale: hypotension, hypertension transitoire, asthénie, vomissement, irritabilité, réflexes diminués ou abolis, léthargie, somnolence, sédation ou coma, pâleur, hypothermie, bradycardie, troubles de conduction, arythmie, sécheresse de la bouche, myosis, apnée, dépression respiratoire, hypoventilation et convulsion.
