Onlangs is men zich opnieuw gaan interesseren voor het gebruik van ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) als methode om de longen vóór de transplantatie te keuren.
Récemment, un regain d’intérêt s’est manifesté pour l’utilisation de l’ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) comme technique d’évaluation des poumons avant transplantation.

Er bestaan twee verschillende methodes voor ex vivo bewaring: in de eerste plaats is er de klassieke cooling met koude bewaarvloeistoffen en plaatselijke koeling op ijs (Simple or Static Cold Storage: SCS) en vervolgens perfusiesystemen (Machine Perfusion : MP) die het orgaan continu doorstromen met een speciale bewaarvloeistof om zoveel mogelijk orgaanschade tijdens de cold ischemia time (CIT) te voorkomen.
Il existe deux méthodes différentes de préservation ex vivo: tout d’abord, le classique cooling utilisant des solutions de préservation froides avec le refroidissement topique sur de la glace (Simple or Static Cold Storage: SCS) et ensuite les systèmes de perfusion (Machine Perfusion: MP) qui perfusent l’organe en permanence au moyen d’un liquide spécial de préservation afin d’éviter autant que possible les lésions aux organes durant le cold ischemia time (CIT).
