Gisteren was ik in de gelegenheid om in Letterkenny in Noordwest-Ierland een tentoonstelling over kunst en poëzie te openen die was georganiseerd door de Women’s Domestic Violence Service van Donegal, met bijdragen van drie plaatselijke scholen: Saint Columba’s, de plaatselijke vakschool en Loreto Convent.

1. Indien in de aanvrage overeenkomstig artikel 44 van Verordening (EG) nr. 6/2002 een beroep wordt gedaan op voorrang uit hoofde van een tentoonstelling, legt de aanvrager samen met de aanvrage of uiterlijk drie maanden na de datum van indiening van de aanvrage, een bewijsstuk over dat op de tentoonstelling door de voor de bescherming van de industriële eigendom op die tentoonstelling verantwoordelijke instantie is afgegeven.

In het recent gefederaliseerde België zijn talrijke bevoegdheden toebedeeld aan de drie gemeenschappen. Dit geldt ondermeer op het vlak van de cultuur. Als gevolg hiervan zijn de drie gemeenschappen, en niet de federale regering, verantwoordelijk voor de organisatie van deze tentoonstelling, dit in samenwerking met de Commissie van de Europese Gemeenschappen.
With the language communities now responsible for cultural affairs in the newly federal Belgium, the three communities have joined forces to arrange the exhibition together with the Commission of the European Communities.

Daarnaast komen op deze tentoonstelling nog drie belangrijke projecten aan bod, namelijk de restauratie/wederopbouw van de historische wijk Chiado in Lissabon, de instandhouding/restauratie van het Parthenon en de Acropolis en de instandhouding/ restauratie van de kloosters van de Athosberg; de Commissie verleent jaarlijks steun voor deze drie projecten, gezien het belang ervan op Europees en internationaal niveau.
The exhibition presents, also, three significant projects, namely the restoration/reconstruction of the historic Centre of Chiado in Lisbon, the conservation/restoration of the Parthenon and Acropolis and the conservation/restoration of the Monasteries of Mount Athos, all of which are supported by the Commission on an annual basis in view of their importance at European international level.

Tijdens de conferentie zal een tentoonstelling rond drie centrale thema's voor de Europese IT-industrie - thuis, de werkplek en mobiliteit - met behulp van videofilms en interactieve systemen een boeiend beeld van de toekomst geven.
During the Conference, an Exhibition on the three key themes for Europe's IT industry - the home, the workplace and mobility - with video displays and interactive systems will offer an intriguing view of the future.
