The tentative conclusions of the seminar were the following: - in general, the execution of the project is well advanced (although some small sections of the corridor are still missing); - the overall economic impact of the project could be enhanced if two additional feeder rail lines were added: the Belfast - Derry line and the Limerick Junction to Limerick line, thus including the five largest population centres on the island of Ireland in the corridor; - improved rail access to ports, especially Dublin and Belfast, should be examined; - the implementation of the Cork - Dublin section of the project can, and should, be accelerated; - there are no major administrative, political or environmental obstacles to the completion of the project as planned.
