Moi, je voulais attirer notre attention, d’une part, sur l’avis du Conseil économique et social qui est très intéressant et qui pourrait éclairer aussi les décisions à prendre et, d’autre part, souligner le fait que la démocratie participative fonctionne quand chacun est dans son rôle, aussi bien les élus du Parlement et le Conseil que les organisations de la société civile et les citoyens non organisés pour lesquels l’initiative citoyenne est une opportunité.
I, for my part, would like to draw this House’s attention, on the one hand, to the opinion of the Economic and Social Council, which is very interesting, and which could also shed light on the decisions to be taken and, on the other hand, to stress the fact that participatory democracy works when everyone – the MEPs, the Council, civil society organisations and unorganised citizens for whom the citizens’ initiative is an opportunity – has a role to play.
