67.A la suite de l'ouverture des négociations d'adhésion, le 31 mars 1998, avec Chypre, la Hongrie, la Pologne, l'Estonie, la République tchèque et la Slovénie, le Conseil européen note que sept chapitres ont déjà fait l'objet de l'examen analytique. Il se félicite aussi que l'examen analytique de l'acquis ait également été entamé avec la Bulgarie, la Lettonie, la Lituanie, la Roumanie et la Slovaquie.
67.Following the opening of accession negotiations on 31 March 1998 with Cyprus, Hungary, Poland, Estonia, the Czech Republic and Slovenia, the European Council notes that the screening exercises for seven chapters of the acquis have been completed. It also welcomes the opening of the analytical examination of the acquis with Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Slovakia.
