* L'initiative «Supply Chain Management» de l'EICTA (European Information and Communications Technology Industry Association) a pour objectif d'élaborer une approche européenne commune en matière de gestion de la chaîne d'approvisionnement dans le secteur de l'électronique, de manière à simplifier la collecte de données tant pour le demandeur que pour le fournisseur, en favorisant également l'amélioration de la qualité des fournitures sur le plan environnemental.
* The Supply Chain Management initiative of EICTA (European Information and Communications Technology Industry Association) has the objective of developing a common European supply chain management approach for the electronics industry, simplifying data collection for both the requestor and the supplier whilst driving environmental improvements in supplied items.

En complétant la Supply Chain Initiative par des mesures d'application indépendante dans les États membres où ces mesures n’existent pas encore, on améliorerait dès lors l’efficacité de l’initiative, tout en supprimant vraisemblablement la principale raison qui empêche certains groupes de parties concernées d’adhérer au cadre de la Supply Chain Initiative.
Hence, supplementing the Supply Chain Initiative with independent enforcement measures, in those Member States where such measures currently do not exist, would increase the effectiveness of the initiative and would appear to remove the main reason for which certain stakeholder groups have not joined the framework of the Supply Chain Initiative.

(1) La Commission encourage toutes les entreprises et les organisations concernées au sein de la chaîne d’approvisionnement alimentaire à souscrire à une initiative volontaire contre les PCD, et notamment à la Supply Chain Initiative, afin de montrer leur engagement, de renforcer la confiance au sein de la chaîne d’approvisionnement alimentaire et d’atteindre la masse critique et la portée dont ont besoin ces systèmes pour être efficaces.

Notes that, in adopting measures to counter UTPs within the food supply chain, due account must be taken of the specific features of each market and the legal requirements that apply to it, the different situations and approaches in individual Member States, the degree of consolidation or fragmentation of individual markets, and other significant factors, while also capitalising on measures already taken in some Member States that are proving to be effective; takes the view that any proposed regulatory efforts in this area should ensure that there is relatively broad discretion to tailor the measures to be taken to the specific features of each market, in order to avoid adopting a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach, and should be based on the general principle of improving enforcement by involving the relevant public bodies alongside the concept of private enforcement, thus also contributing to improving the fragmented and low level of cooperation that exists within different national enforcement bodies and to addressing cross-border challenges regarding UTPs.
