En 2002, j’ai apporté mon soutien au rapport Oomen-Ruijten ainsi qu’à l’appel lancé contre la décision-cadre, mais, à cette époque, la Commission nous a clairement fait comprendre, de façon répétée, que cette directive et cet appel contre la décision ne devaient pas être considérés comme une première étape vers l’harmonisation du droit pénal dans d’autres domaines.
In 2002, I backed the Oomen-Ruijten report and also the appeal against the framework decision, but at the time, the Commission repeatedly impressed on us that the directive and appeal against the decision should not be seen as a first step towards harmonisation of criminal law in other areas.

Faire en sorte que les fonds capitalisés pour la retraite suivent les employés tout au long de leur carrière doit donc être notre objectif. À cet égard, je soutiens les efforts de notre rapporteur, Mme Oomen-Ruijten, en ce qui concerne la préservation des droits dormants.
