Expresses concern at the effects of the provision of the Fourth Amendment banning political advertising in the commercial media since, although the stated aim of this provision is to reduce political campaign costs and create equal opportunities for the parties, it jeopardises the provision of balanced information; takes note that the Hungarian Government is in consultation with the European Commission on the issue of the rules on political advertising; takes note that restrictions also exist in other European countries; takes note of the opinion of the Venice Commission on the Fourth amendment to the Hungarian Fundamental Law (No CDL-AD(2013) 012), which states that "limits on political advertising have to be seen against the legal background of the particular Member State" and that "the prohibition of any political advertising in commercial media services, which are more widely used in Hungary than the public service media, will deprive the opposition of an important chance to air their views effectively and thus to counterweigh the dominant position of the government in the media coverage";

Néanmoins, je voterai la position commune par défaut, car tenter à nouveau d'amender le texte, c'est risquer de voir tomber la position commune ; c'est donc courir le risque qu'aucune directive n'existe sur les services postaux et, par suite, qu'une libéralisation complète de ce secteur puisse intervenir d'ici à 2 ans.
Nevertheless, I will vote in favour of the common position for lack of anything better, because if we were to try to amend the text again we would run the risk of seeing the common position fail; we would therefore be running the risk of not having any directive on postal services and consequently of this sector being fully liberalised within two years.

Le travail effectué est énorme et je tiens à exprimer mon soutien à propos de l'ensemble des amendements déposés par Mme Lienemann, car ils constituent tous une amélioration par rapport à la position commune. Je me limiterai à relever les principaux amendements.
It has been a huge task, and I should like to express my support for all of Mrs Lienemann’s amendments. These are all improvements to the common position.
