L’exposition de symboles religieux et culturels auxquels s’identifient les personnes est une expression de la liberté de pensée – et le prix Sakharov sera justement attribué au sein de cette Assemblée demain – et devrait être protégée en tant que telle par les institutions de l’UE elles-mêmes et par les organisations internationales fondées sur les principes démocratiques.
Displaying religious and cultural symbols with which peoples identity is an expression of the freedom of thought – and the Sakharov Prize will be awarded in this very Chamber tomorrow – and should be safeguarded as such by the EU institutions themselves and by international organisations founded on democratic principles.
