Malheureusement, le futur projet Nabucco ne contribuera pas à cet objectif en raison du chantage que l’UE pourrait connaître dans le contexte de l’adhésion prévue de la Turquie à l’UE. Étant donné l’influence directe du régime islamique en Turquie, le projet, dans sa forme actuelle, doit donc être rejeté.
The planned Nabucco project will not, unfortunately, contribute to this, since, it will leave the EU open to blackmail with regard to the planned accession of Turkey to the EU. Given the direct influence of the Islamic regime in Turkey, the project in its current form is therefore to be rejected.

Eu égard à la position adoptée par certains États de la région au sujet de la priorité accordée par l'Union au projet Nabucco, le Conseil pourrait-il indiquer quelles mesures il envisage de prendre pour accélérer la réalisation de ce projet particulièrement important, aussi bien pour les États qui seront traversés par le gazoduc que pour l'approvisionnement en gaz de l'Union européenne, et quels sont les délais de réalisation prévus?
In view of the positions adopted by some countries in the region concerning the priority given to the Nabucco project, can the Council explain what measures it has in mind in order to accelerate the implementation of this project, given its major importance both for the countries which it will cross and for the Union's supplies of gas, and can it also give an indication of the expected calendar?
