It will be held in Bologna, 13-16 June 1989, as part of the University of Bologna's ninth centenary celebrations, and in association with the Italian National Research Council (CNR) and the City of Bologna. This major event will provide a broad, international forum for the leading experts in this field who will examine the role of science and technology in the protection, conservation and restoration of the European cultural heritage existing in material form (including historic sites, buildings and monuments, indoor and museum environments, paintings and murals).
