Le mercredi 20 novembre 1996 a eu lieu à Oslo le paraphe d'un accord de coopération douanière entre la Communauté européenne et la Norvège. Monsieur James Currie, Directeur Général pour la Douane et la Fiscalité indirecte au sein de la Commission européenne, et Monsieur Tom Rädahl, Directeur Général du Département Douane et Fiscalité indirecte norvégien, ont en effet apposé leur paraphe sur un texte qui vise essentiellement à maintenir la substance des accords bilatéraux conclus, longtemps avant leur adhésion, par la Finlande et la Suède avec la Norvège.
An agreement between the European Union and Norway on custom cooperation has been initialled on Wednesday 20 November 1996 in Oslo by Mr. Tom Rädahl, director General of the Norwegian Department of Customs and indirect Taxation, and Mr. James Currie, Director General for Customs and Indirect Taxation at the European Commission. This text intends to maintain the substance of the bilateral agreements concluded, long before accession, by both Finland and Sweden with Norway in the framework of Northic Union.
