(b) if one or more of those subsections applies in the same taxation year in respect of both the amendment to paragraph 1406(b) of the Income Tax Regulations effective as of the life insurer’s 2012 taxation year, and the International Financial Reporting Standards adopted by the Accounting Standards Board and effective as of January 1, 2011, then, for the purposes of applying those subsections in respect of a transition year described by paragraph (b) of the definition “transition year” in subsection (12), the reference to “as it reads in respect of its transition year” in paragraph (b) of the description of A in the definition “reserve transition amount” in subsection (12) is to be read as a reference to “as it reads in respect of its transition year (determined without reference to the amendment to paragraph 1406(b) of the Income Tax Regulations effective as of the life insurer’s 2012 taxation year); and

(5) The equipment with which a Canadian ship is fitted to comply with these Regulations shall meet the applicable electrical installation standards in sections 3.10, 3.12, 3.14, 4.1, 4.3, 4.4, 15.6, 15.7, 15.11.2, 15.11.3, 52.1 to 52.4, 54.2 to 54.4 and 58.1 to 58.3 of Ship Electrical Standards, TP 127, published by the Department of Transport.

12. 12. The ECDIS and the back-up arrangements referred to in paragraphs 10(1)(a) to (c) shall meet the applicable electrical installation standards in sections 3.10, 3.12, 3.14, 4.1, 4.3, 4.4, 15.6, 15.7, 15.11.2, 15.11.3, 52.1 to 52.4, 54.2 to 54.4 and 58.1 to 58.3 of Ship Electrical Standards, TP 127, published by the Department of Transport.

(ii) soit celles des normes E-10 et E-11 de l’American Boat and Yacht Council, intitulées Storage Batteries et AC and DC Electrical Systems on Boats et, pour les avis de sécurité, celles des modifications canadiennes qui figurent dans les normes de construction;
