Quand certains députés se lèvent dans cette Chambre pour dire qu'ils ne veulent pas adopter la motion tout simplement parce que certains droits des minorités seront violés, j'aimerais rappeler à cette Chambre que les droits des minorités francophones à Terre-Neuve sont présentement violés, parce que dans cette province, depuis 14 ans, on ne se conforme pas à la Charte des droits et libertés du Canada.
Some members rose to say that they do not support term 17 simply because minority rights will be violated. I remind this House that the rights of French speaking minorities in Newfoundland are currently being violated, because, for 14 years now, the province has not been complying with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
