Monsieur le Président, devant le charcutage électoral sans précédent auquel voudraient bien se livrer les conservateurs — et, je le présume, le gouvernement — en Saskatchewan, je me demande si le premier ministre pourrait nous donner aujourd'hui l'assurance catégorique que cette histoire ne se conclura pas par une mesure législative partisane et que le gouvernement va plutôt se tourner vers une mesure qui respectera les conclusions auxquelles est arrivée la commission de délimitation des circonscriptions électorales pour la Saskatchewan, en fait auxquelles sont arrivées toutes les commissions du pays.
Mr. Speaker, in light of the unprecedented effort by the Conservative Party, and I presume the government, to gerrymander the riding boundaries in Saskatchewan, I wonder if the Prime Minister could give us a categorical assurance today that there will be no special partisan legislation with respect to this matter, but rather that the government will ensure and guarantee that it will bring in a law that would be entirely compatible with the final conclusions of the boundary commission in Saskatchewan and, indeed, right across the country.
