Parmi les amendements majeurs introduits figurent la réintroduction de «l’approche basée sur les émissions» adoptée par la directive 80/68/CE sur les eaux souterraines afin d’atteindre l’objectif fixé par l’article 4 de la directive-cadre - «la protection des eaux souterraines contre la pollution et la détérioration» -, l’application de limitations plus strictes concernant les substances incluses dans la liste figurant à l’annexe VIII de la directive-cadre afin d’éviter une contamination durable, ainsi que la nécessité de mesures de reconstitution.
Among the important amendments introduced are as follows: the reintroduction of the ‘emissions-related approach’ taken in Directive 80/68/EC on groundwater in order to meet the objective of Article 4 of the Framework Directive, ‘to protect groundwater against pollution and deterioration’, tighter restrictions applied to the substances on the list in Annex VIII to the Framework Directive, with a view to preventing long-term contamination, and the need for recovery measures.
