Suite à la publication de son avis qui met en particulier l'accent sur le système Entrée/Sortie, le CEPD note que l’un des objectifs annoncés dans les Propositions est de remplacer le système existant, ‘lent et non fiable’, alors que les estimations de la Commission elle-même ne permettent pas d'affirmer que l’alternative sera suffisamment efficace pour justifier la dépense et les intrusions dans la vie privée.

Comme vous l’avez dit, tant le gouvernement français que le gouvernement espagnol devront indubitablement réfléchir à des alternatives, car ce grand passage central des Pyrénées ne sera possible que pour l’horizon 2015 à 2020, dans 15 ou 20 ans. Il convient d’étudier, de planifier et de lancer ce genre de projets suffisamment à l'avance.
