Pearson est bien rendu dans un article originalement paru dans le London Times le 8 août 1921 : « Ce lieu commémoratif national ne saurait être qu’un monument de pierre à la mémoire des hommes qui ont fait preuve de grande bravoure en se portant à la défense de la liberté et qui sont tombés au champ de bataille. Il s’agira plutôt d’un temple, d’un haut lieu, aux murs imprégnés de l’histoire symbolique de la guerre et frémissant au rythme d’un peuple qui a fait de grands sacrifices pour une noble cause». Pearson’s intent for the Chamber is captured in an article originally published in the London Times on August 8, 1921: “This National Memorial is not only to be a monument of stone to the brave men who fell in defence of human liberty, it is to be a temple, a shrine of the nation, the symbolic history of the war being wrought into is walls, and its atmosphere thrilled with the heart throb of a people who made a great sacrifice in a noble cause”.
