Le Président fait savoir à la Chambre qu'une vacance est survenue dans la députation à la Chambre des communes pour la circonscription électorale de Charleswood St. James—Assiniboia, dans la province du Manitoba, à la suite à la démission de M. John Harvard, et que, conformément à l'alinéa 25(1)b) de la Loi sur le Parlement du Canada, il a adressé au Directeur général des élections, le jeudi 6 mai 2004, l'ordre officiel d'émettre un bref d'élection en vue de pourvoir à cette vacance.
The Speaker informed the House that a vacancy had occurred in the representation in the House of Commons, for the Electoral District of Charleswood St. James—Assiniboia, in the Province of Manitoba, by reason of the resignation of Mr. John Harvard, and that, pursuant to paragraph 25(1)(b) of the Parliament of Canada Act, he had addressed, on Thursday, May 6, 2004, his warrant to the Chief Electoral Officer for the issue of a writ for the election of a member to fill the vacancy.
