This is not the first time you will have heard us implore this committee to exercise its right of being the chamber of sober second thought, to stop this process and to do, as Mr. Jones and The John Howard Society of Canada have encouraged, a much more fulsome review of the system and manner in which this bill — and others that have preceded it — is interfering with a more progressive agenda, of which Canada has rightfully been proud in the past.
