Pour que l’Union monétaire soit durable à long terme, elle ne peut se limiter à des indicateurs nominatifs à court terme, elle ne peut exclure l’économie réelle, la croissance économique ou l’emploi et elle ne peut ignorer les disparités internes substantielles de nature régionale et sociale qui l’accompagnent et que la Commission a parfaitement identifiées dans le travail qu’elle a accompli sur l’«UEM@10».
For monetary union to be sustainable over the long term, it cannot limit itself to looking at short-term, nominal indicators, it cannot leave out the real economy, economic growth or employment and it cannot ignore the substantial internal divergences of a regional and social character which occur alongside it and which the Commission detected very well in the work which it did on the ‘EMU@10’.
