La vice-présidente Lu s'est aussi fait un devoir de mentionner la réception très enthousiaste que le président Chen a reçue à New York ces jours-ci, lors d'une escale de son voyage qui le mènera en Amérique du Sud, le président des États-Unis, George Bush, étant même allé jusqu'à dire que Taïwan devrait être admise au sein de l'OMC avant que ne le soit la Chine continentale.
Vice-President Lu also made a point of mentioning the very enthusiastic reception that President Chen was getting in New York at that particular time on his way through to South America, with President Bush of the U.S. going to the length of saying that Taiwan should be accepted into the WTO before mainland China is accepted.
