Quatrièmement, pour ce qui est de l'Afghanistan - et je m'adresse à nouveau à la Commission -, il existe un amendement en vue de créer une rubrique "pour mémoire" destinée à l'aide en faveur de l'Afghanistan, et nous demanderons au Conseil, par le biais du Parlement, qu'elle soit incluse dans le budget en deuxième lecture, parce que notre groupe veut que s'établisse une alliance internationale en vue de contribuer à la reconstruction de l'Afghanistan dès que le conflit aura cessé.
Fourthly, as regards Afghanistan – and I turn to the Commission again here – there is an amendment down to create a ‘pour memoire’ entry for aid to Afghanistan, and we will be asking the Council with Parliament to put this into the budget on second reading because we want to see in our Group that there will be an international alliance to help the reconstruction of Afghanistan once the conflict is over, and initial thinking on this issue is already under way in the United Nations.

As several French Socialist Members have claimed the right during the debate on the fight against money laundering to put certain countries in the hot seat, including mine, on the basis of an erroneous, approximate and aberrant appraisal of the practices of Luxembourg as a financial centre and the Luxembourg political powers, I am anxious to refute here in the House, and as vigorously as our Prime Minister and the chairmen of the finance, budget and legal committees of the Chamber of Deputies of the Grand Duchy have done, the allegations which the French Socialist Members have become guilty of during their so-called ‘assault course’ against dirty money.
