EU-Mercosur interregional association The long-term goal put forward by the Commission today is an EU-Mercosur interregional association founded on a balanced political, economic and trading partnership conducted in a spirit of solidarity, notably through the gradual establishment of a free-trade area for industrial products and services together with reciprocal and gradual liberalization of trade in agricultural products, taking account of the sensitivity of some products. Cooperation, political and otherwise, could be deepened at the same time.
