Relativement à la mort d’Alexander Litvinenko, la Commission se réfère à la déclaration faite il y un an par la présidence de l'UE au nom de l'UE, dans laquelle elle faisait part explicitement de «sa déception face à l’incapacité de la Russie de coopérer de manière constructive avec les autorités du Royaume-Uni» et soulignait «combien il importe que la Fédération de Russie établisse d’urgence une coopération constructive à cet égard».
In relation to the death of Alexander Litvinenko the Commission refers to the statement made by the Presidency of the EU on behalf of EU over a year ago where the EU which stated explicitly “its disappointment at Russia's failure to cooperate constructively with the authorities of the United Kingdom” and it underlined “the importance of urgent and constructive cooperation by the Russian Federation on this matter”.
