Non seulement je ne partage pas les arguments avancés dans la réponse signée par le commissaire Figeľ, mais je constate qu’il n’est pas précisé clairement si la Commission entend, comme elle l’avait annoncé publiquement début novembre 2005, maintenir le projet consistant notamment à réduire de façon inacceptable le nombre de traducteurs espagnols au mépris d’arguments aussi importants que le nombre d’hispanophones et l’extraordinaire développement de cette langue, tant à l’intérieur qu’à l’extérieur de l’Union.
I do not agree with the arguments advanced in Commissioner Figel's reply, and I feel it does not provide a full answer as to whether the Commission is maintaining the plans made public in early November 2005, which entailed, inter alia, an unacceptable reduction in the numbers of Spanish translators which takes no account of such crucial factors as the number of Spanish speakers and the remarkable growth of the language both within and outside the Union.
